Air Traffic Control Tower

Notice to Pilots – the AIRPORT is going to IMPLEMENT RESTRICTIONS FOR ECLIPSE on Monday, August 21st. To ensure safety, the Central Nebraska Regional Airport will only allow pilots with confirmed reservations and prior permission to land August 21st between 0700 and 1700.  Pilots should check Notice to Airmen (NOTAMs) that could affect their flights on that day. With the Central Nebraska Regional Airport being in the path of totality we want everyone to have a safe and fulfilling eclipse-viewing experience.  In order to do that we had to limit the number of aircraft landing.  With 150 reservations, the airport ramps are full and we are not accepting any more aircraft.  The airport is expecting to see a record number of aircraft traffic during the eclipse event. Both runways will be closed from 1200 to 1300.   Aircraft will be able to land without PPRs after 1700.

The Central Nebraska Regional Airport offers the only Air Traffic Control Tower between Lincoln, NE and Denver, CO, making Grand Island a favorite fueling and maintenance stop. With its centralized location, CNRA offers both the convenience and technology to best serve your flying needs.

Open from 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM, the control tower provides aircraft separation, flight clearance, weather information and routing throughout the ATC system.
